List of tools developed by the group and our collaborators or recommended external tools:

  1. Group developed form for developing and submitting aerospace medicine questions for systematic reviews.  This form is to help capture the nature of questions that are being refined to systematically review.  Answers to the questions help form protocols for systematic reviews by guiding the determination of relevant populations, interventions and outcomes to include.   Access the form here...
  2. Group developed tool for creating review protocol.  This tools will guide you through the process of creating your review protocol, it should follow on from and draw off of the question form (item 1 on this page).  The protocol details all the review methods.   Access the form here...
  3. Group developed tool for rating the quality and indirectness of bed rest studies being used to simulate human space flight. Bed rest studies simulate axial unloading as occurs in spaceflight and can be designed with various and potentially differing elements. This tool was designed to compare actual bed rest studies with an “ideal” design.    Access the tool here...
  4. Group developed tool for quantifying training, protective or worsening effects of exercise countermeasures intended to prevent deconditioning (e.g. during periods of inactivity, bed rest, space flight).  Quantifies amount of intervention group change in relation to baseline and expressed as percentage of change recorded in inactive control groups.  Access the tool here...
  5. Group developed tool for assessing quality of partial gravity simulation models.  This tool can be used to quantify the methodological quality of various partial gravity simulation models for transferring to real human partial gravity space missions.  Models included are parabolic flight, vertical body weight support, lower body negative pressure, tilted body weight support, supine suspension and heads-up tilt. Access the tool here...
  6. Group developed tool for data extraction during aerospace medicine systematic reviews.  This the form guides the data extraction process.  It is based on Cochrane data extraction forms and so will help your work to meet Methodological Expectations of Cochrane Intervention Reviews (MECIR) standards for collecting and reporting information about studies included in your review.  Access the tool here...
  7. Group developed tool for translating different units used to express partial gravity into the graviational acceleration'g'.  This tool translates outcome measure such as percentage of body weight, degree of head up tilt into gravitation acceleration 'g'.  Access the tool here...
